Cleveland Clinic, Department of Plastic Surgery is offering a one year fellowship position in Microsurgery and Advanced Breast Reconstruction based at its Main Campus in Cleveland, OH to begin July 1, 2017. This represents an expansion of our current microsurgery fellowship program given the high volume of complex reconstructive procedures performed at this quaternary care institution.
Fellows will gain significant experience in microvascular reconstruction with particular emphasis on reconstructive breast procedures. The fellow will also develop expertise in soft tissue and bony reconstruction in the head and neck, trunk and extremity. A breadth of oncologic and traumatic presentations will be encountered. Additional training in microsurgical and supermicrosurgical treatments for lymphedema will be available. The fellow will have an opportunity to participate in the care of vascularized composite tissue allotransplant patients.
Access to the Cleveland Clinic microsurgery skills training lab is available. Abundant research opportunities exist and participation resulting in publication is expected. Resident supervision and teaching will be required.
Applicants will have completed an approved training program in US or Canada by July 1, 2017 and must be eligible for licensure in Ohio.
