||Job Description: The Section of Plastic Surgery at Yale Medicine is seeking a clinical fellow for microsurgical breast reconstruction to start July 1, 2018.
This is a one year, high volume clinical fellowship with a focus on microsurgical breast reconstruction at Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH). This program performs over 150 microsurgical breast reconstructions per academic year. Exposure to upper and lower extremity, and head and neck reconstruction brings the total free tissue transfers to over 200 per year.
YNHH is a 1,541 bed hospital with an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Smilow Cancer Center. It is the largest hospital in Connecticut with a large coordinated network of hospitals to support tertiary care, perform Level 1 trauma care, and within which is a well-developed Children’s Hospital. YNHH is the primary teaching hospital for the Yale School of Medicine.
It is anticipated that the fellow will participate in the operative and outpatient care of breast reconstruction patients requiring microsurgical techniques. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in section academic conferences, clinical research, and teaching of our integrated plastic surgery residents as well as medical students.
