||The Department of Surgery in the School of Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a Board certified or in the process of certification or equivalent plastic surgeon for a full time academic position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (clinical, non-tenure track); academic rank will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and stature in the field. Responsibilities include clinical care, research and teaching of fellow, residents, and students. Clinical activities will be focused on acute care plastic surgery including facial fractures, post traumatic upper / lower extremity reconstruction and may include some hand surgery. Also, post oncologic reconstruction of head and neck and breast malignancies using microsurgical techniques will be needed. Clinical activities will be primarily centered at University Medical Center - New Orleans, a full service, regional facility. There are leadership opportunities within the department and also within the clinical partner hospital administration for candidates with leadership and management experience. Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before date of hire.
