This role requires progressive leadership, effective administrative skills and a passion for incorporating cutting edge research to advance the delivery of high quality, cost-effective care at an organization that is revolutionizing how the health of its patient population is managed.
Founded in 1915 by Abigail Geisinger, widow of a local iron magnate, Geisinger began as a hospital that was intended to be a regional medical center modeled after Mayo Clinic. Today it is a physician-led system engaged in healthcare, education and research, with approximately $6.7 billion in revenues. The system has eight hospitals, employs nearly 1,600 physicians and spans 45 counties in Pennsylvania and seven counties in southern New Jersey. The platform for population health advances is unparalleled.

The Chair will have the opportunity to make a substantial impact on one of the nationís most successful and important healthcare systems, setting the pace for the entire industry. Geisinger seeks a professional for whom that goal is a driving passion.
The ideal candidate will be a surgeon with a medical degree from an accredited school as well as board certification in Plastic Surgery.
