Job Title: Division Chief, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Description: The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM), a nationally renowned, top-tier medical institution invites applications and nominations for the position of Division Chief, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Reporting to the Chair of Surgery, the Division Chief will promote a strong culture of institutional stewardship and collaboration throughout one of the regionís top academic health systems, Temple Health. It is expected that the new Chief will continue to build on the divisionís strengths; positioning it for future growth through the continued development of the clinical enterprise, pursuit of new business opportunities and partnerships, heightening of scholarly activity and enhancement in medical education. It is strongly preferred that candidates possess prior leadership and program development experience, with demonstrated fiscal and administrative responsibility. Lastly, it is expected that the successful candidate will have proven leadership in areas contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as a commitment to advancing these principles within the Department and the School.

The Department of Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University has approximately 45 full-time clinical faculty members in eight Divisions. The Department provides the highest quality, most compassionate care to its patients, utilizing state-of-the-art and minimally invasive technologies and techniques to achieve successful surgical outcomes.

Currently, the Division of Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery consists of 3 full time clinical faculty members. The Division offers a full spectrum of cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery including surgery. In addition the Division currently includes an accredited plastic surgery fellowship with six fellows.

Successful candidates will possess an M.D. with active certification by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is required and credentials that will support a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor are strongly preferred. Candidates with additional pertinent degrees (Ph.D., M.B.A., and M.P.H.) and fellowship training are encouraged to apply. Candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills and strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity. Lastly, candidates should be active participants in specialty organizations/committees at the regional and national levels and have the ability to obtain medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The School of Medicine has also recruited renowned physicians from around the country who have enhanced Templeís capacity to expand its clinical mission well beyond its traditional boundaries.
