President's Message
Jeffrey Janis, MD, President of ACAPS
Jeffrey Janis, MD
It's hard to believe that we are already halfway through our year and the holiday season is almost upon us! At the beginning of my term in April, I developed a list of 27 initiatives that we targeted to accomplish by April of 2015. That has expanded to 40. Each committee was given responsibility to develop and execute these initiatives. Multiple task forces were created. Members were engaged to help create innovative content. The entire ACAPS committee structure was analyzed, revamped and repopulated. The commitment was made to be aggressive in accomplishing these goals so that ultimately we deliver value to the membership, which is the theme of the year. To this end, we also developed monthly updates in the form of this Presidentís Page so that we can keep membership informed as to the tremendous progress our organization is making thanks to everyone's incredible efforts. I thought that a midterm update would help keep you aware of the progress that is being made on all fronts. We are on target to accomplish our goals!

Thank you for an outstanding Fall meeting in Chicago. We will keep the momentum going and continue to provide you value with practical resources you can use in your programs. Our unwavering commitment remains to you, the member, as well as to resident education.

I want to personally thank our volunteer members on these committees and task forces, the committee chairs and co-chairs, and the vice presidents whose time and effort are bringing all members the opportunity to utilize these initiatives in your programs.

Yours in service,
- Jeff Janis, President
