Job Title: Academic Plastic Surgeon

Location: Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY

The Division of Plastic Surgery at Albany Medical Center is seeking applicants for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The past several years has seen steady growth and expansion of the practice, with continued commitment to resident education and research. The Division has a strategic plan of ongoing growth in clinical care, education and research, and candidates with a desire to contribute to this growth will be preferred.

Candidates are sought with an interest in reconstructive surgery including but not limited to breast reconstruction, craniofacial surgery, hand surgery and general reconstruction including microsurgery. Available opportunities include providing breast reconstruction services at a nearby affiliate hospital, expanding our aesthetic practice and providing clinical care at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.

The Albany Med Health System is the only academic health system in North-Eastern New York, and has more than 1100 beds in the Capital Region. Servicing a population of 2.9 million people, Albany Medical Center is the busiest Level 1 trauma center in New York state.

Qualified applicants should satisfy the criteria to be appointed as a faculty member with demonstrated excellence in aspects of our tripartite mission of clinical care, teaching, and research.

Required qualifications include an M.D., successful completion of an approved Plastic Surgery residency program, board eligible/certified in plastic surgery, hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the state of New York. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
