Description: The Section of Plastic Surgery at Michigan Medicine is seeking a faculty member to join our team at the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor level. Plastic Surgery at Michigan is one of the largest academic Plastic Surgery practices in the country. It is a vibrant, growing section currently with 19 clinical faculty members, four clinical fellows, three research faculty, 28 residents and a large clinical and research presence.

The preferred candidate will have 6/8 position at the VA performing clinical duties in the area of hand surgery and some general plastic surgery. The additional time will be at the Michigan Medicine performing hand surgery. Duties also include teaching medical students, house officers and fellows in clinical and didactic settings. Opportunities exist to pursue clinical-based research. This position will be located at both the Ann Arbor Veterans Administration Medical Center and Michigan Medicine.

Qualified applicants should satisfy the criteria to be appointed as a faculty member with demonstrated excellence in all aspects of our tripartite mission of clinical care, teaching, and research. The selected candidate will show exceptional promise in academic pursuits and a proven track record in research.

Required qualifications include an M.D., successful completion of an approved Plastic Surgery residency program, board eligible/certified in plastic surgery, hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the state of Michigan. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
