|Description:||The Department of Plastic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin offers a one-year fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery. This ACGME accredited program offers advance training that encompasses the entire breadth of pediatric craniofacial surgery as well as adult trauma. Fellows have in-depth involvement with pre-operative planning, high-volume operative experience, and multi-disciplinary care of patients.
The training program has a large clinical volume of reconstructive procedures for congenital anomalies including syndromic and non-syndromic craniosynostoses, clefting abnormalities, orthognathic conditions and trauma reconstruction. Craniofacial fellows will become facile in the management of patients, with a broad exposure of craniofacial procedures including fronto-orbital advancement, cranial vault remodeling, and distraction osteogenesis. They will also gain significant experience with cleft lip and palate procedures and general pediatric plastic surgery. Fellows will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary cleft and craniofacial team. Children"ôs Hospital of Wisconsin and Froedtert Medical Center are high volume Level I trauma center providing diverse and complex facial trauma reconstruction experience.
Scholarly activity is welcome and well supported. Fellows will also be welcome to join on any international humanitarian trip that faculty attends.
