|Description:||The Department of Plastic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a hand fellow August 1, 2021 through August 1, 2022 into a newly accredited program by the ACGME.
This program offers a busy clinical practice in both elective and traumatic upper extremity patient care. The setting includes adult and pediatric hospitals with Level 1 trauma centers, a regional burn center, and a tertiary Veterans Affairs Hospital on the same campus. The core faculty includes 4 fellowship trained hand surgeons with a full scope of practice including: bony injuries of the forearm, wrist and hand; microsurgical reconstruction and advanced peripheral nerve techniques; congenital and pediatric; brachial plexus; arthroscopy and a full-spectrum elective practice. We expect early graduated independence of the fellow and that the fellow will participate in teaching of residents. The fellow will join a diverse and dynamic faculty and residency complement. The applicant must be committed to the VUMC mission of reflecting the diversity of the populations we serve in our teams.
