Description: | Shriners Hospital for Children(SHC) at Galveston carries out approximately 2000 reconstructive operations per year, primarily on burn survivors. This fellowship is designed to provide a wide experience covering all aspects of burn including a combination of reconstruction and orthopedic cases; scar management - including, but not limited to, flaps (including microsurgery), grafts, laser, total ear reconstruction and vascular malformations.
The fellow will work under the supervision of three plastic surgeons and will be given increased autonomy based on progression throughout the year. The fellow will also be expected to participate in teaching of residents and medical students who are assigned to their OR and clinic.
