Description: The Plastic Surgery Department at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a motivated medical student or resident to fill the research fellow position beginning in July 2021 for a minimum duration of one academic year.

The fellow will gain experience in all aspects of research studies from start to finish including grant writing, research study design, manuscript writing, and more. A combination of currently running studies and new studies will be available, and the candidate's input and interests are welcome. Projects in basic science, translational, and clinical research are all available, as well. Authoring of book chapters may be possible for those interested. Distinguished faculty members in plastic surgery and research will help guide the fellow to reach their goals.

Interaction with other research groups and departments in Vanderbilt University's vast and world-renowned network is welcomed and encouraged. The position is open to medical students and residents in any year. Prior research experience is encouraged but not required for application submission.

Interested candidates should submit their CV, USMLE Step 1-3 scores (if completed), ABSITE, PSITE, or other in-service training exam score reports (if completed), and 2-3 letters of recommendation (including a letter from the medical school's dean's office for medical students or the residency program director for residents to confirm good standing and approval for the research fellowship).
