|Description:||The Division of Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine is seeking a qualified candidate for a non-ACGME Microsurgery Fellow for one year. This 12-month fellowship will entail an instructor level appointment within the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This fellowship is being offered for the first time during the 2021-22 academic year to start July 1, 2021 and represents a new collaboration of the established Plastic and Orthopedic Reconstructive Microsurgery Programs at Washington University.
In addition to a program of didactic and clinical/technical education, fellows will receive mentorship in clinical and/or translational research and will have opportunities to participate in resident education. While the clinical opportunities and curriculum of this fellowship are comprehensive, the intended emphasis of this fellowship is upon the orthoplastic reconstruction of the lower extremity along with the full breadth of reconstructive microsurgery (head and neck reconstruction, breast, lymphedema and limb salvage). This opportunity is best suited to a surgeon seeking a broad-based microsurgical education emphasizing limb reconstruction and salvage and reconstructive microsurgery. It is a goal of this fellowship to maintain exposure to orthopedic and plastic surgical perspectives, and to leverage the advantages of interdisciplinary collaboration. This a unique opportunity for immediate autonomy surrounded by fellowship trained microsurgeons in both orthopedic and plastic surgery.

Prior to starting the fellowship July 1, 2021, candidates must:
(a) have completed an ACGME Plastic Surgery residency program
