|Description:||A one-year fellowship in microvascular and complex reconstructive surgery to begin August 1, 2021. Due to unanticipated pandemic-related logistical issues, an opening has arisen ahead of the upcoming academic year. Applicants must have successfully completed plastic surgery residency training and be board-eligible (ABPS) with either US citizen or permanent resident status. The fellowship will take place in the context of a busy academic microsurgical practice and plastic surgery residency engaged in treating the full spectrum of complex reconstructive conditions encountered in a tertiary referral center. Experience includes heavy exposure in both head and neck and breast reconstruction in addition to various other reconstructive endeavors such as post-traumatic limb salvage, reconstructive hand microsurgery, and oncologic trunk reconstruction. The Division of Plastic Surgery performs all complex head and neck reconstruction allowing a robust experience in this arena. Involvement in ongoing clinical and translational research efforts will be a component of the fellowship curriculum as will active participation in resident education.|
